When a lot is going to have something built on it, then clearing the lot is something that needs to be done before the construction can begin. Clearing the lot is done to remove everything from bushes and debris to large trees. There are also other reasons for having a lot cleared besides having it done in preparation for something being built there. Here are some of the other reasons why a lot may need to be cleared.
Avoid fines
If you own a piece of land that is located in an area where code enforcement makes sure that lots are kept in good condition and free of things like overgrowth or excessive trash, then you want to make sure you keep it looking good. If you have let things go for too long, then there may be a lot of overgrowth and other things you need to have cleared, and in some cases, you may even be looking at having a big land clearing job done.
Remove fire hazards
Dry brush can cause a fire to spread quickly. If you live in an area where there are drought conditions and wildfire risks, then you need to be very careful when it comes to the condition of your land. If you have a lot of dry brush on your land and ash lands on the land from a fire in the area, then the fire can really grow. Even if there isn't a drought, having dry brush is always an added risk.
Having asphalt or concrete laid
If you are going to have something like a parking lot, a road, a tennis court, a basketball court, or something else of this nature put on the land, then you need to clear it. The land must be cleared and then leveled in order for the asphalt or concrete to be able to be laid without obstacles or bumps that prevent it from being flat.
Having sod laid on the land
If you want to have grass on your land and in areas that currently have bushes, weeds, and trees, then you are going to need to have the land cleared before the sod is laid. Once you have had the land cleared of all of those things, then you can have the soil prepared and have the sod laid so you can get the land looking just how you want it to look.
